Card Customers Must Apply For Refund

An Oakland judge has ruled Visa and MasterCard customers must apply to get part of an $800 million refund for improper charges by the credit card companies. The two companies were found guilty of hiding a one-percent surcharge on overseas purchases that require converting foreign currency. Visa and MasterCard have to make refunds for purchases dating back to 1996.
