Fatal Fall Victim Identified
The man who fell to his death at Pacific Bell Park last night has been identified as a Santa Cruz resident. Authorities say Hawaii native Todd Edwards was watching the San Francisco Giants beat the San Diego Padres when he dropped his sunglasses in the bottom of the eighth inning.
The glasses fell about 25 feet and a homeless man told Adams he´d hold on to the glasses until Adams could retrieve them. Police say Adams climbed over a railing and tried to jump to a light fixture outside the outfield wall so he could jump to the pavement below. But he slipped and hit his head.
He died later at San Francisco General Hospital.
It´s the first death at Pac Bell Park since it opened in 2000.
