The good news is San Joaquin Valley wants to fight air pollution. The bad news is Valley residents will have to pay extra money for motor vehicle registrations.
The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District will devote $2.38 million to attacking auto pollution.
The money will come from Valley residents who will pay an extra 1-dollar in motor vehicle registration fees. The money will be used to replace old diesel vehicles, the
purchase of clean-air cars and the investment in public transportation. The increase was authorized by Senator Dean Florez.
