“Wild One” Run Visits Hollister

Hollister is the site of a massive motorcycle rally, as tens of thousands of bikers are expected to jam into the sleepy farm town for the holiday weekend gathering. It´s an annual rally when the city´s population swells from 36,000 to 100,000 or more. Tattooed and leather-clad bikers are expected to fill the narrow sidewalks as tourists snap up souvenirs, hot dogs and beer, or just sit back and watch as roaring motorcycles cruise the town´s main drag. An army of local police and California Highway Patrol officers will also be on hand to keep the peace. It´s all an homage to the Hollister run, the original biking event that led to Marlon Brando´s famed appearance in “The Wild One.”
