Staying Cool In The Pool

Triple-digit temperatures put a drain on the state´s electricity reserves Wednesday, but there was no lack of energy at the Sonora swimming pool as dozens of area residents took advantage of the cooling water to keep 107 degrees temperatures at bay.
As one youngster puts it, the main reason to be at the pool on days like this is, “to stay cool.”
All area public swimming pools – at Columbia, Tuolumne City, Twain Harte, and Sonora – expect to be very, very busy during the next few days as folks try to beat the heat.
