Recycle Old Phone Books
New phone books are out, but what do you do with the old one?
Mark Rappaport with the Tuolumne County Solid Waste Department says Tuolumne County residents can recycle the old phone books through September by placing them in the blue recycling bags for curbside residential pick-up.
Phone books can also be dropped off in the special recycling bins located in downtown Sonora at the County Administrative building on South Green Street, at the Cal-Sierra Recycling Center in East Sonora, or at Moore Brothers Scavenger office in Big Oak Flat.
Rappaport says over the past few years, almost 7-tons of outdated phone books have been recycled in Tuolumne County.
