Fire Contained Near Mokelumne River

CDF crews from Amador and Calaveras Counties held a grass and brush fire to 20 acres last evening after it jumped the Mokelumne River north of Valley Springs. The blaze broke out shortly after 5:30 in Amador County and was contained just before 8:30. No one was hurt. The cause is under investigation.
