Grass Fire Contained In San Andreas

Firefighters contained a 5-acre grass fire off Gold Strike Road just north of San Andreas Sunday afternoon after a brief, aggressive attack. The fire was reported at about 2:40 p.m. and surrounded after about fifty minutes. Two air tankers and a helicopter assisted ground units from several stations in the surrounding areas. Mop up will continue this evening. No injuries reported. The cause is under investigation.
