Half Dome Stairs Nearly Rebuilt

A crew of five men and a trail boss are rebuilding the notoriously steep granite stairway near the top of Yosemite´s Half Dome. The crew has been using levers, winches, rollers and chisels to repair the 442 steps. They´re using the same techniques used to build the pyramids. The project has been underway since June and is expected to be finished by next month.
