A US Forest Service helicopter was in the Ralph Ranch area, about 3 miles southeast of Tuolumne City Friday evening for surveillance of a fire that has been contained, however control of the fire is not expected until sometime Saturday afternoon. Crews were mopping up a timber and brush fire of 15 to 20 acres overnight and are expected to return Saturday morning. The blaze was between Paper Cabin ridge and Duckwall Peak in the Hunter Creek drainage. Two CDF hand crews and engines from Tuolumne County and CDF will be helping with the mop-up. No injuries reported, and the cause is under investigation.
