Dozens Of Bills Signed By Governor
Hate crime victims will have three years to file complaints with the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, triple the current limit, under one of dozens of bills signed
yesterday by Governor Davis. He´s also signing a bill making it illegal to commit a hoax that prompts a search and rescue effort. And he´s signing a package of five bills to help seniors, including one making a drug discount program permanent. Other measures give seniors a single point of contact to access state and local community services and require employers to offer older employees the same training they offer younger ones. Another bill encourages development of housing and commercial areas near bus and train stations.
