Final plans are set to close up the landfill in the Jamestown Mine area. Tuolumne County Public Works
Director Peter Rei says plans were in place five years ago but agencies held them up because of problesm they perceived like unstable slopes at the mine. These
and other problems have been allieviated.
A hearing next month in Fresno will determine if the plans are acceptable.
