Protesters Take It to the Street…But Not ForLong

About 25 protesters made their way to Downtown Sonora´s Courthouse Park yesterday afternoon, to
voice criticism of Sierra Pacific Industries´ clear-cutting practices.
The group ran afoul of Sonora Police briefly, when a big rig was positioned to block
traffic on Washington street. Officers issued a warning. S-P-I continues to draw criticism from environmentalists, who claim the firm is causing lasting damage to
the environment.
