Fire Near Tahoe Up to 3000 Acres

Steep terrain is hampering about 800 firefighters in their battle against a Sierra forest fire that has sent thick,
black smoke over the Reno-Tahoe area.
The U-S Forest Service says the three-thousand-acre Star Fire is burning along the Middle Fork American
River in the Eldorado and Tahoe National Forests. That´s about 25 miles west of Lake Tahoe.
No homes are threatened and no major injuries have
been reported.
