U-S Forest officials have banned campfires in the Tahoe National Forest because of fire danger. Campfire
restrictions went into effect in June, but fire danger has escalated since then. Forest officials also warn against hiking in the forest south of Interstate 80 and West
of the Pacific Crest Trail.
