Authorities are trying to figure out what a Ukrainian immigrant meant when he said his relatives were trying
to “poison” him.
Nikolay Soltys told detectives he killed his pregnant wife, three-year-old son, aunt, uncle and two nine-year-old cousins because they
were “poisoning” him.
Sacramento County Sheriff´s Sergeant James Lewis says his department has learned the word “poison” can be used
metaphorically in Soltys´ culture when someone is speaking poorly of someone else.
