Martinez Teens Charged With Manslaughter

Manslaughter charges have been filed against a 13 year-old girl and her 17 year old boyfriend in last week´s fatal
hit-and-run accident in downtown Martinez.
The two were arrested Thursday after the girl allegedly ran down and killed 82-year-old Judy Rooney while driving her boyfriend´s car.
Police say the pair and three others in the car abandoned the vehicle and ran off.
The young man was charged with involuntary manslaughter because he let an unlicensed driver behind the wheel of his car. Both were charged with vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run.
The other three in the car were not charged. No names have been released because the defendants are minors.
