Sacramento Wrongful Death Suit Thrown Out

A federal judge has tossed out a wrongful death lawsuit filed in response to the killing of a 26-year-old man by Sacramento County sheriff´s officers.
The judge has ruled that Jeffrey Jacob Scott´s mother can´t sue Sheriff Lou Blanas or the county under federal civil rights law because Blanas acts on behalf of the state.
