Sonora Wildcats Football Season Begins Tonight
The Sonora Union High School Wildcats Football season begins this evening with a home game.
Sonora High School Principal Todd Dearden was Friday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.
Varsity kickoff is scheduled for 7pm, according to Dearden.
During the interview, Dearden pointed out that school athletes were kept from working-out or practicing outside during the recent smoke-filled days and mornings.
In addition to football, other athletic sports underway at Sonora High School includes girls volleyball, water polo, girls golf, girls tennis and soccer.
Dearden said there is no chance of having to relocate or postpone tonight’s football game due to smoke from the Rim Fire.
