Sonora, CA — It is homecoming week at Summerville High School and the black and orange spirit is everywhere on campus. The school has been running special events all week including powder puff football games and each class decorating different buildings.

Friday night is the big Home Coming Game and the Bears hope they’re growl is enough to send the Denair Coyotes howling home in defeat. A parade is scheduled for half-time with the color guard, the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Posse, and fireworks.

Principal David Johnstone says, “It is one of those events that it’s a must see. My first year was last year and when I saw it I was blown away. It is phenomenal.”

The Varsity game starts between 7pm and 7:30pm so the fireworks should shoot off around 9pm.
