Serious Off Road Vehicle Crash

Dorrington, CA — There were two off-road vehicles involved in an injury accident in San Andreas over the weekend. The incident happened on forest road number 6N71Y which is North of Highway 4 in the Dorrington area.
Matt Shanks, 30, was driving a 2003 Yamaha YZ250 dirt bike and Daryl Coker, 47, was driving a 2006 Yamaha Razor quad, both are from Elk Grove. They were traveling in opposite directions in the center of the dirt road into a curve at approximately 35 miles per hour. Both were wearing safety equipment including helmets.
Matt Shanks was taken to doctors hospital in Modesto with major injuries. Coker was not reported as injured, by the San Andreas CHP.
