Sonora, CA — Mount Brow Winery will have a new owner come January.

Jim and Pam Costello announced this morning that they will be retiring at the end of the year, and a local couple will be taking over the business effective January 1st. It has not yet been announced who has purchased the winery. The Costello’s will continue to operate the tasting room, business as usual, through December 22.

“We planted the vineyard 20 years ago and started the winery 10 years ago,” says Jim Costello. “We couldn’t be happier that a young, high energy, local couple will keep the brand going.”

During the weekend of November 23rd the Costello’s will celebrate their 10th anniversary in the winery business.

Mt. Brow Winery is the oldest currently operating winery in Tuolumne County, and is located on Mount Brow Road in Sonora. Costello says the tasting room is expected to close at the end of year for renovations, and then re-open in the Spring. It is not immediately known when the names of the new owners will be announced.

Costello notes that commercial customers will not notice any type of interruption in supply, and the wine will continue to be available at many local retailers and restaurants.
