Sonora, CA – Over the New Year’s holiday, some Mother Lode drivers ran into trouble with the law.
Sonora Area CHP Lt. Commander Scott Clamp reports that two people were arrested for DUI in Tuolumne County during the two-day “Maximum Enforcement Period.” He notes that one involved a non-injury accident on Deer Flat Road in South Tuolumne County.
In Calaveras County, there was one DUI related crash and the Copperopolis man involved was transported to Mark Twain Medical Center to treat “moderate injuries.” Taken away by ambulance was 46-year-old Paul Garrett. The single vehicle crash happened at 11:30pm on New Year’s Eve on Black Creek Drive, west of Feather Drive. Garrett’s vehicle went off the roadway and hit a large tree.
Other than those incidents, the CHP reports that it was relatively quiet over New Year’s Eve and Day.
