Lack Of Cattle Grazing Concerns Supervisors
Sponsored by:
Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Supervisors are hoping that the Forest Service will soon allow some cattle grazing on areas burned by the Rim Fire.
The Forest Service put a ban on grazing this season within the Rim Fire footprint. The Supervisors voted to send a letter to the Forest Service encouraging “quick and creative” ways to reintroduce grazing. Besides hurting the local economy, the Supervisors noted the ban is causing an undesirable buildup of some noxious weeds.
The correspondence was sent with a 5-0 vote.
