Reopening Areas Impacted By Meadow Fire

Yosemite, CA — The Meadow Fire burning in Yosemite National Park is 90% contained and 4,772 acres.

A closure order remains in effect for portions of the impacted area. It includes the John Muir Trail, in the area near the Clouds Rest Junction and Sunrise High Sierra Camp. The Sunrise Trail is closed to Clouds Rest, through the John Muir Trail Junction. And a trail along the Merced River is closed between Little Yosemite Valley and Echo Valley.

Meanwhile, several areas are now back open for visitors. They include the Little Yosemite Valley Campground, all climbing routes to Half Dome, the Tenaya Lake Trail, Sunrise Lakes and the Sunrise and Merced Lake backpackers camps.
