“Pack The Patrol Car”

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA— Turkey and Toys needed.  The CHP and the Calaveras County Resource Connection are joining forces for the “Pack the Patrol Car Turkey & Toy Drive.”

The CHP is asking the public to give whatever they can to help them stuff a patrol car with goods for the needy.  “Any little bit helps, says Officer Jaime Castillo.  “We’ve had people say a bag of rice is all they  can do, by all means; we will accept that with open arms.”  Castillo notes that all the donations will be given to families within the county.

The patrol car will be at the Save Mart Shopping Center in Angels Camp today from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  and then again on November 22.  Food or monetary donations will also be accepted at the Food Bank at 206 George Reed Drive in San Andreas.

Organizers say there are 1,500 children 0 – 11 all wanting toys.  The hope is to give each child two toys.  New, unwrapped, toys will be accepted at today’s event or the CHP Office in San Andreas or Sub-Station in Arnold between November 15 and December 15.  The toys will be passed onto Santa’s Express.
