Boy Attacked To Steal Bike
Valley Springs, CA – Calaveras County Sheriff’s Deputies are searching for the man who attacked a 10-year-old boy riding a bike, stole the cycle and rode off.
The incident happened Thursday at 5 p.m. in the 6900 block of Stabulis Road in Valley Springs. Deputies report the boy was riding his bike with some friends near a pond. He heard noise coming from a bush and a man came running towards him. The suspect grabbed the bike and assaulted the boy, according to investigators, who say the man rode off on the bike when the boy yelled for help.
The boy was not injured in the assault and robbery. Detectives say there is no evidence or statement taken that suggest the suspect wanted anything other than the victim’s bicycle. Deputies recovered the bicycle near the original site of the incident.
Here is a description of the suspect. He is a white male in his early thirties, 6’ tall, big stature, goatee mustache, turquoise jacket, black or grey sweat pants and sandal shoes. He was wearing a noticeable black beanie style hat with a big hole in the front. The man was last seen riding the bike near Garner Place Road.
