Update: Power Restored in Tuolumne County Outages
Update 4:40 p.m.: The power has been restored to all PG&E customers in Tuolumne County. In the Strawberry, Pinecrest Lake and Cold Springs area the lights are back on for 1,702 customers who had been in the dark since 2:30 p.m. PG&E has not state a cause for that outage. Additionally, power has been restored to 109 PG&E customers in the New Melones area. Crews were able to fix a broken connection at the scene along Snell Road. Those customers were without power for about two hours.
Update 4:10 p.m.: PG&E staff has found a broken connection at the scene of the New Melones Lake outage and crews are working to repair it. There is still no word on what caused the largest of the outages still going on in the Strawberry, Pinecrest Lake and Cold Springs area where 1,702 customers are in the dark.
Update 3:20 p.m.: Power has been restored to the nearly 1,400 people that were without electricity in the Twain Harte and Cedar Ridge areas. A new outage has cropped up along Snell Road near New Melones Lake affecting 109 customers. The lights power went out around 2:40 p.m. Crews are on the scene assessing the situation, but have not determined a cause. PG&E estimated the time of repair to be 5:44 p.m.
Original Post 2:56 p.m.: Tuolumne County, CA –Nearly 3,500 PG&E customers are without power in Tuolumne County.
The largest outage is in the Strawberry, Pinecrest Lake and Cold Springs area, where 1,702 customers are in the dark. In addition, more than a thousand Twain Harte residents are without electricity in the vicinity of Twain Harte Drive area; nearly 300 in the Cedar Ridge area, from Kewin Mill Road to Big Hill Road.
The power went out around 2:30 this afternoon. PG&E has crews heading to those areas to determine the cause of the outages. It is unclear if weather is a factor in these outages. They estimate that the time it will take to complete repairs will be until around 4:30 this afternoon.
