Fire Extinguished In Calaveras County

Wallace, CA — Firefighters have been investigating what caused a vegetation fire near Wallace on Sunday afternoon.
It ignited shortly before 3pm in 500 block of Hawks Landing Court. CAL Fire air and ground resources responded. In addition, there were firefighters on scene from East Bay MUD, Calaveras Consolidated, Mokelumne Hill Fire and San Andreas Fire.
The fire burned approximately 5 ½ acres. There were no injuries reported, and no homes were damaged.
Firefighters remained on scene to mop-up the incident into the evening hours.
