Breast Cancer Awareness Event Tonight In Sonora

October is National Breast Health Awareness Month and Sonora Regional Medical Center is hosting the third annual Ladies Night Out to help spread the message of breast health to the community.

Lindsay Brewer, SRMC Marketing Coordinator, was Thursday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

Ladies Night Out is scheduled from 4:30 to 7 p.m., Thursday, October 1, in downtown Sonora.

Events for the evening include live music with the Rod Harris Jazz Band, celebration wall, memorial candle lighting, photo booth, “bead walk,” free maniCURES or massages, window display contest, prizes, and a passport book filled with special deals and coupons to be stamped at participating businesses.

There will also be a raffle – prizes include free mammograms and a gift basket valued at over $400.

Register at the Heart Rock Cafe to receive your passport book, “bead walk” bracelet, and window display contest ballot and raffle entry card. The first 250 to register, will receive a free gift.

After stopping by the Heart Rock Cafe, take a stroll with your friends and family through historic downtown Sonora to enjoy some shopping, dining and services. Many local businesses will be participating in the window display contest, staying open late and providing special deals and giveaways.

Staff from the Center for Breast Health will be offering education about breast cancer prevention and early detection. Other activities include a photobooth, celebration wall signing and memorial candle lighting.
