Family Posts Reward, Asks Public’s Help Following Mystifying Disappearance
Jamestown, CA – This week the family of a Modesto man, missing for a month since an ill-fated visit to a local casino, is offering a $5,000 reward for news on his whereabouts.
As previously reported here, Allen Christopher Martin, 35, disappeared from Chicken Ranch Casino in Jamestown on Feb. 9 around 10:30 p.m. According to Charles Jones, a Modesto-based private investigator hired to work the case on behalf of the family, Martin’s mother Linda Hatter shared that Martin was upset about a custody issue in his family and that those who know him consider it uncharacteristic that he would have left the premises and not return or remain out of touch. Reportedly he walked outside to “chill out” away from his girlfriend and her mother, who had accompanied him to the casino. Those close to the case report there has been no electronic activity relating to Martin since he went missing. Although the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office originally reported here that he was carrying a cell phone, Jones says Martin did not have any debit or credit cards and carried only a small amount of cash in a clip.
Since Martin’s disappearance, local authorities with the help of a police helicopter and family members have conducted searches of the area. Tuolumne County Sheriff’s spokesperson Sgt. Andrea Benson confirms that all leads to date have been followed up on. She adds, “The investigation into Allen Martin’s disappearance…will remain open until he is found, and we will continue to follow up on any tips or leads that come into our office — please contact our office at 533-5815.”
Photos and casino surveillance video and other information continues to be shared via the media and social media channels (for additional photos of Martin and the reward poster, click the slideshow link in the upper-left image box). The reward poster additionally provides Jones’ office number. In her email request to media, Martin’s mother states, “We are at the community’s mercy to obtain information that can lead to Allen’s location….help our family find closure to this tragedy.”
Martin is a Caucasian male 6’ 2” in height; 195 lbs; brown eyes with brown hair. He was last seen wearing a gray jacket, dark blue shirt, blue jeans and neon green tennis shoes.
