Roundup Activities Underway In Mother Lode
Sonora, Ca — This past weekend kicked off a busy stretch of events leading up to the 59th Mother Lode Roundup.
Yesterday was the Cowgirl Luncheon and Fashion Show at the Sonora Opera Hall. As you can see in the photo, Coyote Sam and his gang of misfits were on hand to make their presence known. The unruly gang is expected to be back in the downtown area this Thursday afternoon in the traditional effort to stop the Roundup. Motorists should not be alarmed by all the activity anticipated around noontime.
Then coming up Saturday is the Great Steak BBQ and rifle and shotgun raffle at the Posse grounds on Rawhide Road. During the weekend of April 23-24 will be the Queen Horsemanship Competition and Queen Pageant. Additional events are on tap in early May, leading up to Mother’s Day weekend, May 7-8. In addition, planning for the roundup was the focus of the Mother Lode Views radio program that aired this past weekend on all three Clarke Broadcasting radio stations. You can find the full audio of the 30-minute show by clicking here.
