Update: Most Power Restored In Mother Lode

Update at 6:50 p.m.: PG&E reports the power has been restored to 118 customers in Dorrington that lost electricity after the pounding rains came through the Mother Lode.

Update at 6:30 p.m.: PG&E crews are making progress on the mess Mother Nature left behind for the Mother Lode after stormy weather blew through. At the height of the outages nearly 1,500 PG&E customers without power this afternoon into the evening.

A total of 211 customers are without lights in Twain Harte. The company has attributed 92 to a solo-vehicle crash on Twain Harte Drive near Ponderosa Drive that brought down power lines. (Click here for details on the crash.) Those customers are still without electricity. Another 119 customers further north on Twain Harte Drive near East Avenue have had their power restored.

A majority of the outages occured in Calaveras County along Highway 4 with no cause being determined for any of the outages. Crews have made progress restoring power to 168 customers in the Murhpys area, 188 near Arnold, 211 in Vallecito and 278 in Copperopolis.

In the Sheep Ranch area, crews have turned the lights back on for all but 204 of the original 392 customers that lost electricity from the highway to along Sheep Ranch Road. There is no estimated repair time. In Dorrington, east of Highway 4, 118 remain without lights with the company giving a 7:45 p.m. repair time.

Original post at 5:30 p.m.: The wicked weather that hit the Mother Lode has left 1,474 PG&E customers without power this afternoon.

Besides the wreck, another 119 customers further north on Twain Harte Drive to the East Avenue area are without lights. PG&E is investigating that outage and has given an estimated repair time of 6 p.m.

A majority of the outages are in Calaveras County along Highway 4 with no cause being determined for any of these outages. In the Sheep Ranch area, 392 customers lost power from the highway to along Sheep Ranch Road. The estimated restoration time is 6:45 p.m. In the Arnold and Dorrington areas, a combined 306 customers have no lights and the repair time is 7:45 p.m. West of Murphys, 168 customers are without electricity along French Gulch Road to Diltz Lane. No restoration time has been posted. In Vallecito 211 customers along Parrotts Ferry Road and the highway have no power. Finally, in the Copperopolis area, 278 customers are in the dark in the Copper Cove Village subdivision. The company reports the lights should go back on for those outages around 8 p.m.
