Tangipa Declares Victory In Assembly Race

Sponsored by:

Sacramento, CA — Republican David Tangipa is preparing to represent the Mother Lode as the Assemblymember for District 8.

After coming in second place in the March Primary to fellow Republican George Radanovich, Tangipa leaped over Radanovich in the General Election. This past March, Radanovich had 36%, Tangipa 31% and Democrat Caleb Heisel had 29%. With only two candidates on the General Election ballot, Tangipa seemingly attracted more of the votes that went to Heisel.

Tangipa currently has 85,408 votes (52.5%) compared to Radanovich’s 77,273 (47.5%).

After more ballots were counted following Election Night, and a limited number remaining, his team is confident in declaring victory.

Tangipa says, “It is the greatest honor to serve the people of Assembly District 8. To my incredible team, family, friends, mentors, and every supporter, thank you from the depths of my heart. This journey has been challenging, yet every step was worth it for you. Today, we begin the work that will shape California’s future, and with your strength and support, there’s no limit to what we can achieve together.”

The District 8 seat is currently held by Jim Patterson of Fresno, who is terming out of office.

Radanovich has not released a statement following the election.
