Update: Fatal Crash In Calaveras County
Update at 5:15 p.m.: The CHP reports that one person has died in a three vehicle pile up on O’Byrnes Ferry Road near Lake Tulloch. It is unclear exactly what caused the collision, but one person was flown from the scene and another had to be extricated from a vehicle. The name of the victim is not being released pending notification of family. Further details on the crash are below.
Update at 2:55 p.m.: The CHP reports that one air ambulance has been canceled, but another person was flown to UC Davis suffering moderate injuries. One individual at the scene had to be freed from a vehicle by emergency personnel. Further details on the wreck are below.
Original post at 2:30 p.m.: Copperopolis, CA — Emergency Crews are on the scene of a three vehicle pile up on O’Byrnes Ferry Road in Calaveras County.
The crash happened near Duchess Drive by Lake Tulloch in the Copperopolis area. The CHP reports that one person is unconscious and there is a person pinned in one of the vehicles. Two medic-flight helicopters have been called to the scene as well as a couple of ground ambulance. There are four people injured in the wreck, according to the CHP, which detail that two have moderate injuries and two others have minor injuries. Traffic is getting backed up in the area as officers are directing traffic. We will bring you updates as more information comes into the news center.
