April Weekend Events
Several big events happening this weekend have already been in the news. Here are those and several more are listed here.
The ICES 29th Annual Children’s Fair begins at 10:00am on Saturday at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds in Sonora. The theme is “Celebrate Spring” and there will be many free children’s activities, entertainment, and a variety of health, safety and community resource information as well. The California Native Plant Society Spring Plant Sale begins at 9:00am at Rocca Park in downtown Jamestown. Details about the annual sale are here.
New Melones will host a day to to say “Thank You” to everyone who visits New Melones Lake. Customer Appreciation Day is this Saturday, the $8 day use fee will be waived in the Tuttletown and Glory Hole Recreation Areas. For details view the Customer Appreciation Day event listing here.
The 34th Old Mill Run is held Saturday at Columbia State Historic Park. The event benefits the Tuolumne County Community Christmas Eve Day (Free) Dinner at the Fairgrounds. For details about participating in the family friendly race view the 34th Old Mill Run event listing here.

In Murphys, the bicycling event “Mr. Frog’s Wild Ride” the primary fundraiser for the Feeney Park Foundation. Held at Feeney Park in Murphys (behind Michelson Elementary School) the 50k and 100k race also ends at Feeney park with a chicken-in-a-barrel barbecue. On site registration and check-in at Feeney Park will be available today from 4:00 to 6:00pm. On Saturday check-in and registration will begin at 7:00am and close at 9:00am.
