Fire Chief On Paid Leave
Mi-Wuk Village, CA — The Mi-Wuk Village-Sugar Pine Fire Chief has been put on paid administrative leave. Chief Randy Miller was put on leave at the beginning of April by the five members Governing Board of Directors. Acting Chief Larry Crabtree couldn’t give out much information on the case due to confidentiality laws.
Crabtree says, “The administrative leave that he is on right now expires May 5th. Between now and then an outside investigator is going to be interviewing other employees and witnesses. Hopefully by that date he will submit a report to the board to make a determination on any action that needs to be taken.”
Crabtree says that action could include extending Miller’s leave if the investigation is not done by May 5th, reinstating or firing him. Command Strategies Consulting out of El Dorado Hills is doing the investigation.
Miller has been the Fire Chief for over five years. He oversees a staff of nine including five interns.
