Murphys Irish Day Celebration
Murphys, CA – Downtown Murphys will be busy all day and the street will be closed to traffic for the Murphys Irish Day Parade at 11 am. Murphys Irish Day is a family celebration on Saturday of the historic gold rush town of Murphys and its Irish heritage made special this year because it falls on St. Patrick’s Day.
A pancake breakfast at the Congregational Church will be held in the morning. Festivities will include live entertainment, arts and craft vendors, pony rides, a wide variety of foods and beverages, and a raffle with a trip to Ireland as grand prize.
At 11 a.m. a parade featuring bagpipes, bands, marching groups, animals, classic cars, a circus wagon with calliope and much more will make its way down Main Street.
Irish Day is presented each year by the Murphys Business Association. Proceeds from vendor booths are divided between the Fire Department and the MBA. There is no admission charge. Parking and shuttle service is available at Ironstone Winery on Six Mile Road.
