Model A Cars In The Mother Lode
Sonora will be seeing many Model A cars this weekend. The Northern California Regional Group of the Model A Ford Club of America will be in town for its 50th Annual Roundup.
The Regional group represents 1,000 families in over 25 chapters from Northern California and western Nevada. Attendance at recent Roundups exceeded 200 families. According to their website the “Fashion Tea” on Saturday has sold out and will host 360 people.
Typical activities for the Model A group consist of banquets and luncheons, car and fashion judging, a grand tour, car games, seminars and other activities of interest to Model A’ers. They also sponsor a youth award program and make monetary awards to the youth of the member chapters for accomplishments in three categories – car restoration, era fashions and Model A memorabilia.
Today early arrivals may have been seen touring Murphys as a group. A full list of when and where the group will be is on the event registration pdf form here.
Other events this weekend include the Native Daughters of the Golden West Yard Sale, Moccasin Creek Trout Fest Family Fun Day and the much more. For the upcoming list of events visit the event calendar here.
