Triple Digit Heat Through The Week
Triple digit heat will remain in the region through Friday.
High temperatures in the central valley will range from 104 to 110 degrees. Temperatures will lower a few degrees each day through Sunday, and then remain near normal next week.
According to the National Weather Service, there is a threat of dry thunderstorms in the Sierra Nevada on Thursday. Thunderstorms with locally heavy rain could occur on Friday and Friday night. These storms may produce gusty winds, hail and dangerous lightning strikes.
Keep your body hydrated with plenty of water. Wear light loose-fitting clothing. Avoid strenuous activity, especially during the hottest part of the day. Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle.
Pets need plenty of water and shade too.
