Sonora Police Remain Busy
Sonora, CA– It’s been a busy Summer for the Sonora Police Department, according to Police Chief Mark Stinson.
Stinson was Wednesday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.
“Crime continues to rise in Sonora including store robberies and break-ins,” said Stinson.
Stinson continued, “We are continuing to investigate the recent armed robbery at Walmart. I’m not sure if I can pinpoint specifically why crime is up in Sonora. But we seem to see more and more crime simillar to the central valley and the bay area.
Local residents can help by calling us at (209) 532-8141 whenever you have a gut feeling about a suspicous character around your home or place of business. We would rather be on offense to prevent crimes rather than respond to a crime scene that could have been prevented.”
The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
