Fair Leader Leaving
Sonora, CA — The Mother Lode Fair is losing a top leader. Fair Manager Jan Haydn-Myer is stepping down after nearly 12 years. She is retiring to spend more time with her family. Haydn-Myer had considered leaving last year, but instead went from full-time to part-time after Governor Jerry Brown pulled all state funding in 2011.
Fair Board of Director Toni Wagner says, “Haydn-Myer’s done an excellent job for the fair. Financially, even though we’ve lost money, we are still sustainable and she’s been a great manager.”
Director Wagner says they will start the application process for a replacement next week. The job is part-time, 20 hours a week starting at $25 dollars an hour. She says they are looking for anyone with a business background with some fresh ideas.
