Mono Way Stop Leads To Arrest
Sonora, CA– Two people were arrested during a traffic stop on Mono Way last night.
According to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office, 37-year-old Michelle Bergeson of Soulsbyville was pulled over for a cracked windshield on her vehicle. A name check revealed Bergeson was on probation for theft. Also after a series of field sobriety tests, it was determined that she was under the influence of a central nervous system stimulant.
The passenger, 22-year-old Christopher Brewer of Sonora was also reportedly under the influence and had marijuana in his possession.
During a probation search of the car, tools from Orchard Supply and girl’s clothing from Ross were found in the trunk. The items appeared to be brand new with store tags and stickers on them but not in store bags. If the merchandise is determined to be stolen, new theft charges will be added.
Brewer was charged with being under the influence and possession of marijuana. Bergeson was charged with DUI and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
