Angels Camp, CA — A pilot from Calaveras County died over the weekend in a plane crash in the United Arab Emirates.

25-year-old Tyler Orsow of Angels Camp was one of four occupants in the plane that crashed down on a taxiway, shortly after takeoff. Orsow was leaving Al Ain International Airport and was planning to fly to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. He was piloting a McKinnon G21G turbo-prop seaplane.

The Associated Press reports that the plane is owned by Triple S. Aviation, a private company based out of Texas. All four people on the plane died, including Triple S Aviation owner and General Manager Landon Studer. Also on the plane was Joshua Hucklebridge, the company’s project manager, and Nevada pilot Charles Kimes. The cause of the crash is unknown.
