Annual Concours d’Elegance This Saturday
Murphys, CA — Coming to a vineyard near you; the 15th annual Concours d’Elegance.
This Saturday Ironstone Vineyards will be hosting the 15th annual Concours d’Elegance vintage car show from 10am until 4:30pm. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 3pm.
Ironstone Concours Foundation President Gail Kautz was Thursday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.
According to Kautz this year’s show will feature nearly three hundred original classics, including a 1896 Electric Car as displayed by the great grandson of the person who originally built it, and even some rare modern cars as well.
The purpose of the Concours d’Elegance, in addition to entertaining car buffs, is to raise funds for 4-H and Future Farmers of America. Over the years $500,000 has been raised for those groups.
In addition the event provides funding for local and statewide 4H and FFA (Future Farmers of America) Calaveras County Fair, and a scholarship for the winner of the State Fair Scholarship Program.
