Vehicular Manslaughter Charged

San Andreas, CA — A charge of vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence has been filed against a Murphys resident.
At approximately 3:30 on the afternoon of February 5 69 year old Linda Jackson of Murphys was headed eastbound on Hwy 4 west of Shirley Rd. in her 2008 Honda Accord traveling between 60-65 mph when for some unknown reason she crossed over the center line colliding head-on with a 2006 westbound Chevy pickup driven by 71 year old Warren Freedlun of Copperopolis.
Freedlun was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. His passenger, 37 year old Michael Smith of Jamestown, was not injured. Jackson received minor injuries and was treated at Sonora Regional Medical Center.
