It’s Not A Rosy Picture

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Tuolumne CAO Craig Pedro painted anything but a rosy economic picture for the County before the Board of Supervisors this morning.

Pedro stated that depending on the degree of bargaining unit concessions the County could lose anywhere from 60 to 100 positions over the next three budget years.

Pedro and a number of the supervisors added the problem is now expenses; it’s declining state and federal revenues. Pedro is planning on bringing a more detailed analysis before the Board April 6th.

Pedro admitted he’s anything but an economist but he stated that he has studied a number of reports and they all indicate that employment will probably not rebound for at least another two years.
