Behavioral Health Reorganization
Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Supervisors are planning to reorganize the Behavioral Health Department so that it is under the umbrella of the Human Services Agency.
The move would potentially reduce costs and streamline government.
“I actually see it as an enhancement of service to the public,” said Ann Connolly, H.S.A. Director. “We’ll be better able to look at what type of assets we have both staff wise and financially, and maximize those to provide the best service delivery.”
As part of the move, Tuolumne County is looking at moving the Human Services Agency into the soon to be vacated Tuolumne General Medical Facility campus. The move would save the county approximately $550,000 a year in rent fees.
In a related type situation, the County is planning to reorganize the Environmental Health Department so that it is part of the Community Development Department.
The proposals were conceptually approved by the Supervisors with a 5-0 vote.
