Activity At Chinese Camp Mill

Chinese Camp, CA – It’s the first day back on the job for many workers at the Sierra Pacific Industries Chinese Camp Mill.
In early March around 110 employees were temporarily laid off when the mill ran out of logs to process. S.P.I. was unable to immediately retrieve additional logs because of the cold and wet winter.
“We brought 45 people back to work today,” says Mark Pawlicki, S.P.I. Spokesperson. “We’re also looking to add a second shift in the near future.”
The Chinese Camp Mill specializes in cedar. The re-hiring will give a boost to the local employment picture.
