Library Hopes To Receive Grant
Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County is applying for a USDA grant to renovate the Main Library’s Community Room.
The total project cost is $164,000, and would include renovating and equipping with new technology the 1,153 sq. ft. meeting room located just off the main entrance lobby.
The grant request is for $123,000, and the non-profit “Friends of the Library” commits to putting up the remaining $41,000.
The project was first envisioned in 2006 when the Library undertook its Vision 2020 Project.
The USDA funding is available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
The Tuolumne County Supervisors voted 5-0 to submit a grant request.
